RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

Social Ethics

Justice

The Social Ethics research programme explores what an ethical society might be and what responsibilities are borne by citizens and institutions to foster this society. The research explores the relationship between ethical behaviour and economic growth and distribution in the hope of contributing to eradicating poverty and acute inequality. The programme explores enablement theory as a means of overcoming structural injustice.

Corporate Ethics

 Scales of Justice

The Corporate Ethics research programme explores ethical leadership and what it means to operate an ethical business and how this relates to an ethical society. The programme explores themes of justice responsibility borne by corporations and how this responsibility relates to a corporation's economic responsibilities. With reparations being an overall theme for ISCE, this research programme also considers corporations' reparative duties relating to their own actions and societal reparative justice.
